The grand final of the BBC Young Musician 2018 competition is being held at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham on Sunday 13th May 2018 and is being broadcast on BBC4. The exceptional young finalists will perform a full concerto with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the celebrated British conductor Mark Wigglesworth.
I wish good luck to all of the finalists but, of course, I am especially excited to hear Lauren Zhang perform on piano again and I’m hope she is crowned the over-all winner.
Lauren started playing piano at only 4-years old and now just 16 she plays with such talent and passion. I am sure playing with the backing of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra will bring out the best in her playing.
The other finalists are; Robert Burton (woodwind) and Maxim Calver (strings). I encourage you all to tune in and watch, I’m sure it will be an exciting final.
