I am absolutely delighted to share the fantastic news that Anthony has been awarded a Distinction in his ABRSM Grade 5 Piano Performance Exam! His dedication, musicality, and hard work have truly paid off, and I couldn’t be prouder of his achievement.
A Wonderful Programme, Beautifully Played
Anthony performed a varied and exciting selection of pieces, each showcasing his growing confidence and expressive artistry.
Cimarosa: Allegro (3rd movement from Sonata in C minor, C. 68) – A bold and well-projected opening set the tone for an engaging performance. His articulation was neat and effective, with a strong sense of pulse and balance throughout.
Pilling: Philomela – This piece was played with beautiful phrasing and a real sense of character. Anthony captured the expressive mood wonderfully, shaping the melodies with sensitivity and control.
Kabalevsky: Scherzo – Full of energy and rhythmic precision! The lively staccato brought the piece to life, and his confident approach made for a captivating performance.
David Önaç: A Distant Star in the Stillness – A thoughtful and atmospheric piece, performed with a strong sense of musical mood. Anthony created a lovely sense of space and stillness, drawing the listener in.
