I recently had the great pleasure of presenting my pupil Lawrie with his ABRSM Piano Grade 1 Distinction certificate.
On the day of the exam, I think I was more nervous than Lawrie as this was the first time I had entered a pupil for an exam since moving from Spain to the UK but, of course, I really had nothing to worry about as he played magnificently and aced all sections of the exam.
The examiner’s notes were wonderful culminating with ‘A superb result for your first piano exam. you played musically and the supporting tests were impressive.’
I would like to thank Lawrie for his hard work as we finalised his preparation in the lead-up to the exam and also his parents for having confidence in me to teach their son.
Now, the hard work starts all over again as we prepare for Grade 2!
